If you want to enter a formula into an article, this can be done in WikiText using the <math> tag.
The Wikitext code for an example formula looks like this:
<math>
\operatorname{erfc}(x) =
\frac{2}{\sqrt{\pi}} \int_x^{\infty} e^{-t^2}\,dt =
\frac{e^{-x^2}}{x\sqrt{\pi}}\sum_{n=0}^\infty (-1)^n \frac{(2n)!}{n!(2x)^{2n}}
</math>
What you see is:
- The overall formula needs to be enclosed by tags.
- The formular itself is written in (rather complicated to understand for first-time users) LaTeX code
